It appears that the Republicans are privately expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump's temperament. The party fears his lack of experience and tendency for gleaming diplomatic crisis with unplanned rants on Twitter.
The Democrats were given a 51 seat majority in the upper chamber in 2001, after the late Sen. Jim Jeffords left the Republican Party. He had been a lifelong Republican and has served seven terms in the House before winning three Senate races, Online News reported.
Apparently Jeffords was struggling with the changing nature of the party, and he finally decided that he would leave the party due to his own conscience and principles. He was also the man who strongly opposed the recklessness of President Bush's mammoth tax cuts. He was recognized for his contribution and also as a member of the house when Senate Republicans refused to fully fund individuals with the Disabilities Education Act, Rolling Stone reported.
While this occurred in 1975, it was sixteen years later that the Republicans expressed deep concerns over Trump's temperament. Some are very much concern that the administration is bent on undermining the Atlantic security alliance and forming closer ties with Russia. This has not been the only concern for Republicans, others are shocked by his attacks on the judiciary and the perception that he is thin skinned and a self obsessed authoritarian.
In fact people have come forward and offered public statements by condemning the president's travel ban and his provocative tweets. However, it is the politics that is preventing them from going further than that. Reports state that almost nine out of ten Republicans either approve or strongly disapprove the job done by the president so far. It is also believed that Trump is the least popular newly elected president in the history of polling.
The Republican officeholders are constrained from voting against his less qualified nominees, as long as the base remains behind Trump. At this moment there seems to be several issues that are still carried on forward in Trump's administration.
